Skytide Interaction / Visual Designer (Contract) Apply for this position

Job Description

The interaction / visual designer is responsible for setting the direction and building the components of a world-class interface design for our streaming video analytics application.

He or she has a broad range of responsibilities: creating flows, interaction designs, site maps, prototypes, visual designs, and assets for an industry-leading content delivery network analytics package.

  • Coding and testing of a new green-field RoR analytics project
  • Integration with Java-based backend
  • Release management of hosted analytics system
  • Coordination with front-end software engineer on interactions and visualization
  • Coordination with the server team on data API

Qualifications

Required Technical Qualifications:

  • Fluency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools

Required Personal Qualifications:

  • Implementation-oriented, can-do attitude
  • Motivated to propose and complete, pragmatic, implementable solutions.
  • Experience in early-stage startups.

Desirable Qualifications

  • HTML5, CSS3, and javascript coding skills
  • Experience designing data visualizations such as analytics dashboards or other graph-centric applications
  • Understanding of content delivery networks concepts
